Dr. Andrew Jesus Cabrera is a small animal general practitioner with a passion for emergency medicine, surgery, rehabilitation, and preventative medicine. Born and raised in Pomona, Dr. Cabrera is native to Southern California. He’s had various opportunities to leave the state and county for work but is adamant California is home. He hopes to build a strong community and healthy foundation for pet owners to be able to take the best care of their furry family members
From a young age Dr. Cabrera knew he wanted to work with animals. As a kid he would feed the stray animals around his neighborhood and as a teenager he would walk dogs to earn an allowance. He graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor’s in Science and went to on study Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in St.Kitts and Nevis. During Veterinary school he was awarded a scholarship to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Beijing China. He also spent 3 months in Southern Africa learning to relocate and treat local game animal. For his final year of school, he completed his clinical training at the Royal Veterinary College in England.
When not busy treating and saving animals, he’s at home sleeping, eating all the foods, or at the gym. His latest hobby has been learning orthopedic surgeries to provide more affordable services to the local community.
